Welcome to the Minnesota Chapter of the US-China Peoples Friendship Association! The USCPFA-MN was founded over 40 years ago, at a time when there were no diplomatic relations and few other connections between the Peoples Republic of China and the U.S., with the mission of building friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples of China and the peoples of the United States.
Today, there is a dense and growing web of relations between China and the U.S., ranging from national and sub-national government-to-government relations, business ties through trade and investment, academic cooperation among a wide range of educational and research institutions, cultural exchanges and heritage appreciation, and a host of other touchpoints. In this environment, the USCPFA’s mission stands out as unique in its focus on building the personal (people-to-people) relationships upon which a long-standing peaceful and prosperous bond can be forged.
We are a volunteer organization with no paid staff or facilities. Among our assets are a leadership team with many decades (collectively and individually) of relationships between the U.S. and China, a membership base that participates in events and occasions for building personal ties, and a rich background of collaborative relationships with partners in the business, academic, governmental, cultural, and press spaces. These allow the USCPFA-MN to act a little bit like glue, and a little bit like a lubricant, bringing diverse people and interests together and facilitating meaningful interaction among people.
Now that you’re here on our website, please have a look around at who we are and what we do. We encourage you to take a next step, sign up as a member (it’s a good deal), and take advantage of the opportunities for building lasting friendships and promoting mutual understanding. Thanks for much for being here, and welcome!
